Ahh, the jasmine - Melanie and I smell it on every block (and our backyard) as we walk the dogs. Appreciate your interesting perspective and way with words.

Funny you mention jasmin and Milan; I moved to Milan a year ago and the first thing that struck me was the jasmin EVERYWHERE. The whole citys smells like it during spring, summer, and sometimes even fall. It's wonderful. I could only dream of a garden like yours.

Thanks, Jane. Right now we have the smell of sage and privet. The Jacaranda is about to bloom, and it too is fragrant, though subtle.

A very good word: sweetandlilacky. I know that fragrance.

I've been breathing deeply ever since I read your beautiful, fragrant post, David. Ahhh. I loved how our friend Marilyn featured your piece with hers after you mentioned her book in yours. As for me... I just came upstairs after inhaling deeply of the cactus that's going out of it's blooming mind with seven gorgeous white flowers on its stickery self.

So nice to hear you have some garden fragrance too. Carolyn and I were just having a late lunch outside and the Chinaberry is still so sweetandlilacky. ( I made that word up, in honor of good old e.e.) I was blown away how Marilyn handled that post. Very polished too.

Love it. Yesterday I found the energy to go down to the garden and the scent of orange and tangerine blossoms got me through the day

Thanks, Jennifer. Even last night as I closed the back slider, a wave of Chinaberry perfume came inside.
